Vice President, Transactional Bases
Ed is a twenty-five year veteran of the multi-channel marketing industry with a special focus on cooperative databases. His expertise includes business-to-business, consumer, postal and interactive marketing. He has been tapped to speak at various DMA, NEMOA and Merit events on topics ranging from postal customer acquisition to email marketing best practices.
Upon joining MeritDirect in 2004 Ed served as Director of Business Development for b2bBase, Merit’s first co-operative membership database. Under his direction the program grew from 3 beta participants to almost 200 catalogers who have used over 100 million names from the base. As Vice President Transactional Bases he continues his leadership role on b2bbase while managing Pinnacle, Merit’s next generation transactional multi-channel base with 200+ members and over 10 million buyers.
Prior to joining MeritDirect, Ed worked for a roster of blue-chip multi-channel vendors including Equitec, Impower, Direct Media and CMGi. He has built and managed multiple multi-channel cooperative databases as well as an email service bureau division. His B2B clients have ranged from Staples to Northern Safety and B2C clients from bn.com to Neiman Marcus. He holds a degree in Psychology from the University of Rochester.
Ed lives in upstate New York with his wife and daughter and enjoys sports in his spare time.
